Dear Santa....

As you can probably tell from this I'm not from a family that just gives one present, in fact my mum refuses to just give us one big present for Christmas so I guess in some ways I am lucky.
So this year for Christmas my one request that I've been annoying my parents over was the Kindle Fire HD. So at this point I know a lot of people will be thinking wait a minute why not a IPad? The truth? I wanted a Kindle Fire from the moment I read about the maybes of it being invented it seems to me (an avid book reader) to be the ultimate step up from the kindle I got given 2 years ago, it will surely come in handy in September when I start University! :)

As you can probably tell I am a mega fan of comics both DC and Marvel when I say this I kind of cheat, I haven't actually read the comics. So this Christmas Batman: The Dark Knight Rises is definitely on my list it is the most incredible film that I have seen this whole year and I'm for sure going to make my parents watch it on Christmas day :) . Following that is The Amazing Spider-Man to add to the collection along with.... The Avengers Assemble six disc collection, I swear if my parents buy me this I will cook the Christmas dinner! I will actually sit upstairs on Christmas day and watch all six movies so excited by the prospect of that!!!!

I am also in dire need of new shoes as I live in my white tall converses and need to jazz it up a bit so what way than to have bright pink ones, they would definitely make any outfit brighter and more playful. Vans are also on the list as I have been eying up the Port Royale shaded ones for absolutely agessss!  Also on my shoe list are these Mickey Kingston boots from Office,  Rhiannon mentioned them in her video/ blog post and since then they have been on my list, you should definitely check her out .

The last two things are miscellaneous what better way to watch the whole collection of The Avengers than sat wearing Avengers PJ bottoms! I eyed these up in the Tesco mens section and have been on at my dad every time he heads there, I know ASDA do a similar pair but unfortunately I couldn't find them on their website but they definitely do them in store.  Finally is the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, a lot of YouTube beauty gurus swear by this stuff and I've wanted to try this as I haven't yet found the ultimate skin care routine for me.

No matter what I get I'll be thankful after all Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones and eating too much! So I hope that all you readers of my blog have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! <3 xxxxx

Pick of the week 2

As Autumn is coming around key pieces are starting to appear in shops everywhere and this shirt by Topshop is no different. With it's khaki shade and pockets located on the chest it gives a basis for both a causal look and a dressed up look. This piece is great for layering as the season begins its transition as it is not to bulky therefore is perfect from coming in to Autumn from summer and only £34 it is a statement piece that everyone can afford. Buy here.

I've been seeing American Apparel Disco pants EVERYWHERE but as I started to look on there website the price immediately put me off Expensive ones here. £74 is enough to put anyone off unless you have bundles of cash, so lately dupes have been appearing and I'm loving River Island's dupes at a fraction of the cost (£30). It is something that you can wear with almost anything and again dress up or down, this for sure is on my shopping list, I suggest you join me. Buy Dupes here

Would you pay that much for shiny leggings?

Pick of the week

I have a lot of parties coming up in a short space of time over the next month so party dresses are something I've been looking for. I don't have the "assets" so I'm not one to show my chest in dresses, instead I'd rather show my legs, so when I saw this dress from New Look I fell in love and a bargin at £40 Buy here.

The dress itself is suited to any body shape and the dress length is perfect at just above knee length meaning that killer heels are a must! The dress is almost Gothic looking with the lace detailing around majority of the dress so I would pair it with black heels and a bold red lip. Not brave enough for red lips? Try a bold clutch.

What do you guys think?

Week Over 2

So to be honest the last week has been a bit of a blur, I don't actually remember the first few days... (I was not drunk!). Basically my week was pretty boring minus a joint party that i went to on Thursday night for my friend Mahlons birthday with his friend Joe. So anyway Helena and I decided to meet 6 hours prior to the party to prep and just hang out and catch up. This led to my fringe being boldly cut and my precious curls lying on her kitchen floor! I do love my new hair but its pretty high maintenance because it is a thick fringe.

Any who, by the time the party was in full swing (4 hrs in) 90% of the guests were twatted (drunk) and I had to try and look after my nearest and dearest, which was draining. In the end my friend Alex and I decided we would join them so we went in search of alcohol to find the 90% had consumed it all. Lets just say my night involved sober chats about lady parts with two guy friends, discovering that fake bitches still turn up to parties thinking they're important, unsurprisingly finding out Helena had kissed a certain someone and most unsurprisingly finding Anton had taken ecstasy and then downed a bottle of gin leading to him passing out. FUN!

Friday involved the realisation of a two faced friend which is always nice to find out but better late than never i say. A quick shop with the bestie Niki ensured I bought yet more clothes but overall my week was average just a hectic two days.

p.s thanks Mahlon and Joe for having me :) x

Ombre nails

So I wanted to do something different to my nails and chose to ombre them (i'm not prepared to do that to my hair like so many others have). It's a relatively easy to do effect on your nails and here are the steps.
This is what you will need:
Nail varnishes: BYS crystal clear top coat, Barry M strawberry Ice cream, Barry M Berry Ice cream, Barry M Blueberry Ice cream.
Nail varnish remover (put mine in the lid)
Sponge piece (mine is covered in the ombre effect so you know what it looked like)
Cotton buds for wiping excess.
1. choose 3 colour nail varnishes you want to ombre (I chose blue, purple then pink), cut up a sponge to the length of your nail -and width- I used a washing up sponge.
2. start applying the 3 colours in an equal amount on the piece of sponge until you have all 3 on it. Next place the sponge on your finger and dab until your nail is covered in the nail varnish, dont worry if you have some on your skin as you can clean up later. Repeat until all your nails are done!
3. Once completed get some nail varnish remover and a cotton bud and go around the nail cleaning up any that has gone over your nails.
4. Finally apply a base coat over the top of the nail varnish and leave to dry.
ALL DONE!

Not that you can see it very well but here is the finished article

Week Over 1

So I can't say I did much Monday and Tuesday but on Wednesday I took a trip down to Stratford Westfields to shop for an outfit for an upcoming party. I went with my two girlfriends Joycie and Helena and we caught up with the latest goss and used all our cash! (SKINT!) - May post a picture of my outfit-
Thursday was the hardest day of my life so far, my sister went to live in Australia forever, I didnt think it would be as bad as it was, my dad and I managed to contain our emotions however my mum couldnt and kept bursting into tears on our 30 stop train journey back home from Heathrow. However I must admit that night I did cry a lot, and I miss my sister loads :(.
Friday and Saturday were just days spent shopping, Friday our family actually went to dinner in the resturant my sister works in and it worked out at about £30 for 4 people, bargain!
Yesterday (Sunday) My parents had to make a 4 hour car journey to Liverpool for my sisters graduation which was on Monday but started to early for them to travel down on the day which gave me the house to myself for the night. Helena came to sleep over to catch up (again) and we practiced (unsuccessfully) to do African dancing -its one of those parties-

All in all a mixed week filled with emotion and catch ups. Hope this week is good :)

My hair

So, my hair is my prized possession and people are always quick to annoy me with stupid comments like " I like you hair better when its straight". All I ever think when that is mentioned is what the hell are you trying to say about my natural curly hair.
I was fortunate enough to be born with curly hair and its been hard for me, when i was young all I wanted was straight hair because it just seemed so much easier. However as I've grown up I've come into the person I am and accepted my curly hair and love it! I do get days when I do want to have straight hair and for the past few months I have been alternating, I do love the look of straight hair on me but curly hair IS me.

CURLY HAIR RULES!

What's going on?

Younger children these days don't have manners, and yes I sound old.
So going to a sixth form within a secondary school means that (although partially separated) we still have to pass the "younger ones". There was an incident yesterday where my friend (who's slightly sexual) started gyrating at me, see I'm fine with this , this is normal to me. However to the group of year 10's nearby it was an outrage and they started shouting crap, normally I'm calm and although I didn't say anything what was on my mind was: Shut up! who the hell do you think you are? have some respect for your elders!  some people. To add to my already biased view on the younger generation there was an incident when casually walking home some (what seemed like year 4 or 5) boys started talking to me , so I took out my earphone and then one of them was like "My friend wants to smell your thing". You have no idea how much I was like REALLY! I mean come on they are far to young to even know about "the thing" and what worried me is they asked to smell it, like really? do they think that's what you do with it? society has really changed, boys that age should be reading Biff and Chip books not Karma Sutra!
I decided the only thing for it was to put my earphone back in and walk off, God help there mother in the future, you may even see them on the Jeremy Kyle Show "Prove I'm the dad!"

Things to do before I die

Okay slightly weird, but then again so am I :)

So lately people have been wanted to do some crazy things like bungee jumping and skydiving but I don't find that appealing so instead I've been thinking about what I want to do before I die, and here's some of the list.

1. Learn how to take a compliment - I'm so bad I start fighting with someone ie. "You're not fat" "Yes I am!" * Glenn knows.
2. Be a member of the audience in a TV show - I've always wanted to do this, something like Celebrity Juice or Russell Howard's Good News would be amazing to watch live.
3. Fall deeply in love - I've kinda already done this (and still am) but I'm talking marriage to be honest, soon to come but no rush.
4. Go zorbing- I've always wanted to do this but the idea of being upside down for a while is weird and a little bit scary. Anyway I'm going to do it!
5. Go to the Philippines - My boyfriend is from there and I wanna go even just to drink cola out of a bag with a straw! Lets fly!
6.  Get a tattoo - So I've wanted a small cross on the side of my wrist for ages and I plan to do that at 18 (eek 1 year) or at some stage in my life. It symbolizes the fact that my religion will stay with me no matter what.

7. Learn to write with my left hand - So as you can probably tell I'm right handed and I wanna be able to write with both, it would be too cool!
8. Go Glamping-  being from Essex I have tried this before but it didn't really work out anyway take two?

9. Throw a surprise party for someone - There's nothing better that being selfless and making someone else happy especially if they make you happy. My  friends beware it may be you. ;)
10. Cross the intersection at Abbey Road - Iconic picture, it would be awesome to recreate that with a few friends, maybe frame it, who knows?
11. Own over 150 books - I love reading like beyond any other past time and I can see it being very easy to own 50 so why not triple it as a challenge? Game on.
12. Spend all night in London - I really wanna spend all night wandering around London and just wander home around 6am as if its totally normal, I'd act like a tourist too!

Okay so those are just a few things to tick off my list of life :)

Where's that from????

Lately I've been wondering (I know I really shouldn't lol) where do people get the money to afford things. Okay, I'm not stupid a lot of people have jobs and can support themselves but I'm talking about people my age, I can barely afford to pay for travel and lunch yet some people can go off shopping like no tomorrow. I seriously don't get it, do they have a money tree? I mean its possible that they get it from there parents and half the time that is the case but that is just people being spoilt. I mean I wouldn't go out and spend a ridiculous amount on an outfit when I know I can make better use of the money.

I guess the difference between those people and me is they probably live with the annoying saying YOLO in their heads. Me? I live everyday to its fullest but think about the consequences. I mean do I need to shop in expensive shops when there quality is similar to H&M or even primark?
